HCBS Strategies has supported the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC), Georgia’s largest Area Agency on Aging (AAA), with evaluating and optimizing the agency’s business operations. The operations review revealed that ARC had 12 primary access points which were cumbersomely organized, resulting in less efficient operations
HCBS Strategies supported ARC by developing concrete short and long term strategies to address these issues. These strategies were further separated to identify steps ARC could take independently versus those that would require State involvement. For example, adjusting internal organization, communication, triage, and waitlist management processes could be an immediate step to address backlog issues while developing and automating a standardized intake and coordinating assessments across programs would require State involvement.
HCBS Strategies partnered with ARC to meet with State agency representatives to discuss system changes that would optimize AAA operations and improve long term services and support (LTSS) systems statewide.
